clean drinking water

The struggle

Many Guatemalans struggle to secure regular access to clean drinking water due to many factors including pollution and corruption.

The process

Without filters, the process of purifying water is time consuming and labor intensive.  Unfiltered water has to be boiled to be safe to drink, a process that takes 3-4 hours. Wood has to be chopped, dried, and burned to boil water. Guatemalan homes are small, and open fires release harmful smoke and carcinogens into the air.

Clean water

Each water filter creates 1 MILLION gallons of clean drinking water... Saving a tremendous amount of time and energy while reducing the need for fires that create harmful inhalants!
